<p>This leafy ‘burb is only three miles away from the city, making it an excellent commuter town on foot or via brilliant transport links. Edwardian homes with gardens, all the mod cons of city life and a good schools make it a hit with families, plus there&#8217;s an excellent foodie and shop offering all ready to enjoy.&nbsp; <br>West Bridgford is very much the home of sports. On your doorstep, there’s Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Notts County and Nottingham Forest football grounds, <em>and</em> the National Watersports Centre in nearby Holme Pierrepont.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The main shopping strip through West Bridgford runs from Central Avenue to Gordon Road, and over the years, gazillions of great foodie joints have popped up. Trattoria-style hearty Italian <a href="https://sexymammalovespaghetti.co.uk/sexy-mamma-love-spagetti-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sexy Mamma Love Spaghetti</a> will fill you up. For chilled out dining, <a href="https://lastorianottingham.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">La Storia</a> is a lovely, relaxed Italian restaurant with a cosy vibe. <a href="https://cuzina.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cuzina</a> is another great spot for authentic Greek food in a relaxed environment. </p>



<p><a href="https://www.giltcafe.bar/west-bridgford/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gilt</a> serves up contemporary British dishes (and some great breakfasts too), while sister restaurants <a href="https://www.uchiwestbridgford.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Uchi</a> and <a href="https://www.yumacha.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Yumacha</a> specialise in modern Japanese and Chinese cuisine.&nbsp;A few interesting chains include the <a href="https://www.gigglingsquid.com/restaurant/west-bridgford/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Giggling Squid</a>, <a href="https://thebotanist.uk.com/locations/westbridgford" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Botanist</a>, <a href="https://www.cote.co.uk/restaurant/west-bridgford/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Côte Brasserie</a> and two spots for riverside dining, <a href="https://www.redcatpubcompany.com/pubs/nottinghamshire/waterside-bar-and-kitchen" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Waterside Bar and Kitchen</a> and <a href="https://www.brewhouseandkitchen.com/venue/nottingham/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;Brewhouse and Kitchen.</a></p>



<p>If tapas is your thing, Bridgford has two great spots: <a href="https://www.refinerywb.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Refinery</a> (who also do bigger plates) and <a href="https://www.barescatapas.co.uk/escabeche" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">escabeche</a>, a locals&#8217; favourite. And for fine dining, head to <a href="https://www.restaurantsix.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Six at Trent Bridge</a> and enjoy the gorgeous views from an elevated position above the cricket ground.</p>



<p>There are also some gorgeous café picks in the town.
