<p>Set in the rolling countryside in Oxton,&nbsp;a few miles north&nbsp;of Nottingham, this family-run pumpkin patch has thousands of pumpkins, squashes and ornamental gourds to choose from in colours from traditional orange, to neutral white and crazy blue and pink. It opens on Sat 12 October and admission is free. No dogs.</p>

<p>Pick up a wheelbarrow and get picking. Open from 5 October, you can choose from a rainbow of pumpkins and squashes. There&#8217;s everything from mini squashes to super-size pumpkins . Planning on creating an autumnal display? Pick up a whole range of quashes and gourds, including Onion squash, Crown prince, Spaghetti squash and Turks Turban.</p>

<p>Just outside Derby, this is one of the biggest pumpkin farms in the ‘hood and has become so popular it’s a ticket-only event now. Having planted a whopping 90,000 different pumpkins in more than 40 different varieties, you’ll find it all here. From traditional orange and tasteful white to star-shaped and striped pumpkins. Open from 29 Sept and on various dates during October, tickets are already on sale. Littlies can follow a pumkin trail too.</p>

<p>Take your pick from 20 different varieties of pumpkin (including white ghostie ones) at this annual pumpkin patch from 5 October until 31 October. It&#8217;s free to enter, your can warm up around a wood fire with seasonal hot drinks and there are plenty of Instagrammable backdrops.</p>

<p>Purely looking to pick a pumpkin or two without the distraction of Halloween trails and paraphernalia? This pumpkin plot near Derby airfield promises free entry and no upselling. It usually opens every Saturday and Sunday throughout October, but check the Facebook page for this year&#8217;s updates.</p>

<p>No tickets needed at Ashover and they&#8217;ve planted over 40,000 pumpkins for you to pick from this year.&nbsp;Open every day from&nbsp;5 October to 31 October. Dogs welcome in the spacious parking field and refreshments area, but not in the patch.</p>

<p>With a pizza pop-up every weekend in October, farm animals to see, tractors to sit on and hay bale slide for pumpkins, it’s no wonder this PYO place is so popular. Booking is essential for weekend visits. Or take your on picnic if you fancy and make the most of those stunning views.</p>

<p>Buy a token, grab a wheelbarrow and head to the farm&#8217;s Pumpkin Patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. The patch is open throughout the Halloween Festival from <strong>26 October &#8211; 1 November</strong>. You can even carve it here at the carving stations to make life simple.</p>
