Thrilling chases and edge-of-the-seat drama &#8211; <a href="https://nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk/events/minority-report/">Minority Report</a> has been playing to rave reviews at Nottingham Playhouse. Well worth booking up, the play looks at ideas surrounding justice and what happens when people are detained crimes before they are committed. Gripping stuff. It’s on until Sat 9 March.



Interactive family theatre tour&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sambradshawproductions.com/current-productions/spots-birthday-party/">Spot’s Birthday Party</a> (based on the much-loved&nbsp;Spot the Dog&nbsp;stories), comes to <a href="http://www.derbytheatre.co.uk/">Derby Theatre</a> 4-7 Mar and <a href="http://www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre">Mansfield Palace Theatre</a> 12-13 Mar. Woof to that! The show, which promises songs and dance, and is being produced by the guys behind David Walliam’s&nbsp;Mr Stink, so it bodes well. Fascinating foodie tales unfold as chef and presenter <a href="https://buxtonoperahouse.org.uk/event/an-evening-with-rick-stein">Rick Stein</a> delves into his lifelong love affair with cooking at Buxton Opera House on Fri 15 March. If you’ve lost your cooking mojo, this should bring it back.



Tune in, children of the 80s! Following a smash hit nine-month run in NYC,&nbsp;smash hit new parody musical <a href="https://www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre/events/event/32/stranger-sings">Stranger Sings</a> at Mansfield Palace Theatre on Sat 16 March. Crazy, camp and lots of fun.

March is a massive month for comedy in our hood, with the likes of <a href="https://tickets.motorpointarenanottingham.com/shows/show.aspx?sh=MICHAELM24">Michael Macintyre</a> (8-10 March, Motorpoint Arena, <a href="https://www.motorpointarenanottingham.com/whats-on/">Bill Bailey</a> (1-2 March, Nottingham Motorpoint Arena) and <a href="https://www.derbylive.co.uk/whats-on/sarah-millican-late-bloomer/">Sarah Millican</a> (Sun 24 March, Derby Arena) dropping by. Missed out on the big ticket events? There are plenty of giggles to be had at the smaller gigs too.



<a href="https://buxtonoperahouse.org.uk/event/buxton-buzz-comedy-club-march-2024">Buxton Buzz Comedy Club</a> is always reliable for laughs and stand-ups Jamie Sutherland, Tom Taylor and Dave Twentyman will be delivering the gags at Pavilion Arts Centre on Fri 15 March.

Catch their brand of comedy at The Saracen’s Head, Southwell and the Good Fellow George in Nottingham on Thurs 14 March, at Derby Rugby Club on Fri 15 March and at The Dragon, Willington on Sun 31 March.

<a href="https://tickets.motorpointarenanottingham.com/shows/show.aspx?sh=JAMARMP24">James Arthur</a> brings his tour to Nottingham on Tuesday 19 March and&nbsp;Simple Minds take to the arena stage with <a href="https://tickets.motorpointarenanottingham.com/shows/show.aspx?sh=SIMPMIND24">Del Amitri</a> on Sun 24 March.



Poetry in motion when <a href="https://trch.co.uk/whats-on/10cc/">10cc</a> perform at Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham on Mon 18 March. Alongside the enduring classics I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday, they’ll be delivering all the big hits.



And there&#8217;s some home-grown talent, as Derby band <a href="https://www.songkick.com/concerts/41659491-these-wicked-rivers-at-grand-pavilion?utm_medium=organic&amp;utm_source=microformat">These Wicked Rivers</a> bring their blues-infused version of rock to Sat 16 March at The Grand Pavilion, Matlock Bath.

It&#8217;ll be a night of cocktails and cabaret to remember when the magical <a href="https://www.facebook.com/thecuriouscabaret/">Curious Cabaret</a> comes to The Berliner in Beeston (Tues 5 March) and Peggy&#8217;s Skylight in Nottingham on Wed 6 March). 



And it’s another pairing made in heaven &#8211; <a href="https://buxtoncrescentexperience.com/tour/wineandcrime2/">Wine and True Crime</a> at The Pump Room, Buxton on Fri 1 March and Fri 8 March. Join true crime investigators for a fascinating vino-fuelled evening of stories,

In need of escape? This nourishing four-day Peak District <a href="https://www.wildhive.uk/restorative-retreats/">Restorative Retreat </a>ought to do it. Sleep in a treehouse, enjoy a gentle juice cleanse and join in holistic workshops from 17-21 March at Wildhive Callow Hall near Ashbourne.



Celebrate spring with a spot of pottery. Hooked on The Great Pottery Throwdown? Check out the stunning ceramics at <a href="https://toastedceramicfair.uk/">Toasted Ceramic Fair</a> at Derby Museum and Art Gallery from Sat 23 to Sun 24 March.
