<p>Eden Hall Day Spa has unveiled its sublime <a href="https://baronseden.com/eden-hall" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">new £4 million Spa Garden</a>&nbsp;just in time for summer. With a 20m outdoor hydrotherapy pool (where you can wallow in an average temperature of 39c), new relaxation room and outdoor sauna and firepit, Muddy&#8217;s first in the queue for a visit. There&#8217;s also a beautiful new&nbsp;botanical brasserie, The Vinery, and <em>very </em>tempting cocktail menu.</p>

<p>Chain cinemas might be falling like dominos, but there’s a plucky new local indie to support in Ashbourne. <a href="https://elitecinemaandtheatre.co.uk/now-playing" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Elite Cinema</a> in Market Place is a 1930s gem that’s been restored to its former glory. With comfy seats and sofas, a bar and well-stocked treats, it’s now open and showing a full programme of cinema and live theatre screenings. You get the tickets, I’ll get the popcorn!</p>

<p>Yippee, a whole stack of exciting new restaurant openings to report this month! First up, a casual fine dining gem has opened just a couple of minutes over the Derbyshire border in Staffordshire. <a href="https://www.lowesoncarterstreet.com/">Lowe’s on Carter Street</a> is a chilled bar à vin, with bar stools and high tables in the front, bijou, sit-down restaurant in the back and a lovely suntrap courtyard garden for sundowner wines round the side. Specialising in tapas-style sharing plates, it’s modern fusion-style food (delicious – I popped in for a girls’ night out last week). The wine list is excellent too, with some perfect hard-to-find picks.</p>



<p>Another new restaurant on the way over in West Bridgford, where Edin Gondzic (who runs Hockley&nbsp;restaurants <a href="https://sexymammalovespaghetti.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sexy Mamma Love Spaghetti</a> and Botti de Mammhas) has snapped up a cool corner property. He’s busy turning it into a second sexy spaghetteria dishing up authentic Italian dishes.</p>

<p>After three months of hard graft <a href="https://www.facebook.com/hathersagesocialclub/?locale=en_GB">Hathersage Kitchen by Evangaline</a> opened in the Peak District this week. It&#8217;s been given a fabulous interiors revamp with muted, nature-inspired colour palette and calm, friendly vibe. The new brunch, lunch and cake menu looks good too &#8211; think baked eggs, big bowl salads and burgers. Perfect for a post-walk refuel.</p>



<p>More cool cafés on the way in Nottingham, with <a href="https://bemorebear.co/">Bear</a> announcing it is opening a seventh branch in Hockley later this summer. Its sixth on Ashbourne High Street isn&#8217;t quite ready yet either but should be open for business very soon.</p>

<p>Finally, not quite a new restaurant, but a fab new foodie offering for romantic dinner dates &#8211; <a href="https://nottsderbyshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/woodborough-hall-woodborough/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Woodborough Hall</a> in Nottinghamshire has just opened for evening meals. The beautiful country house wedding venue is under new ownership and has been reimagined as a <a href="https://woodborough-hall.co.uk/private-dining/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">restaurant</a> too. Open on Friday and Saturday evenings (as well as for lunches and afternoon teas), the talented team of chefs serve up locally-sourced, imaginative food in the elegant, intimate orangery.
