<p>We love an outdoor cinema and what could be more perfect than this one? A screening of <em>Pride and Prejudice</em> at…wait for it…Chatsworth! With the house itself taking a starring role, great food and a full bar, it sounds divine. The Austen classic with Keira Knightley is set for <strong>Fri 9 August</strong>. Period drama not your thing? There are showings of <em>Top Gun: Maverick</em> and <em>Grease</em> too (<strong>18 and 19 August</strong>). </p>

Flex the vocal chords at <em>Greas</em>e <em>Sing-along</em> on <strong>Thurs</strong> <strong>8 Aug</strong>, <em>Frozen</em> on <strong>Sat 10 Aug</strong> or <em>Mama Mia</em> later that evening. <em>Top Gun </em>is Fri 9 August and then there&#8217;s family-friendly fodder like <em>Finding Nemo, The Grufflao/Stick Man</em> and<em> Sing.</em></p>

<p>Pop-up cinemas don’t get much more dramatic than this one: the caves at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thevillagescreen.com/peak-cavern">Peak Cavern</a>. The cavern will be lit up with beautiful lighting, while films are projected onto a 21ft screen. <p>Ooh, this one sounds fun, a cool new comedy from Three Inch Fools about one of England’s most epic monarchs in front of Wollaton Hall. <a href="https://wollatonhall.org.uk/open-air-theatre-the-secret-diary-of-henry-viii/">The Secret Diary of Henry VIII</a> is on <strong>Thurs 25 July</strong> and is one of a trio of outdoor shows in the hall and deer park. <p>Fun in the forest at the end of July when Sherwood sets up a big screen in forest to screen six bow and arrow blockbusters. First up on <strong>Thurs 26 July</strong> is Lord of the Rings, followed by Brave, Jurassic Park and Prince of Thieves on <strong>Fri 27 July</strong>, finishing with Robin Hood and The Princess Bride on <strong>Sat 28 July</strong>. </p>

<p>From Shakespeare and children&#8217;s classics to new interactive musical Goose for under fives, there&#8217;s something for everyone this summer. <em>Goose</em> is the first to kick off during half term on <strong>31 May</strong>, followed by <em>Comedy of Errors</em> on <strong>27 July.</strong> Throughout August there&#8217;s everything from <em>Peter Pan</em> and <em>Pinocchio</em> to <em>Midsummer Night&#8217;s Dream</em> and <em>The Little Mermaid.</em></p>

<p>The Notts Maze outdoor cinema is back <strong>from Tues 16 July</strong> showing eight films accompanied by woodfired pizza and popcorn. They&#8217;ll be showing everything from family friendly films (Cara and Encanto), to teen favourites (Dirty Dancing, Lost Boys) and 18s scaries (Huldra and Horror Night).</p>

<p>Another jaw-dropping backdrop for this Shakespeare rom-com. Trentham Gardens and it&#8217;s beautiful lake is the location for As You Like It on <strong>Sat 10 and Sun 11 August</strong>. Your ticket (£19 for adults, £50 family ticket) gets you free entry into the gorgeous gardens, so it&#8217;s well worth packing a picnic and spending the whole day here (there&#8217;s a brilliant adventure playground and Barefoot Walk even big kids will love too).
