Travelling with a wide age gap between your family is made easy here. There are activities for everyone, from pamper sessions and beauty treatments, to a Little Monkeys indoor soft play centre for kids ages 5+. Teens and older kids can coop up in the Activity Den, which has arcade games, pool tables, and air hockey – while tiny tots play around in the soft playroom. For more hands-on fun, try your hand at tennis, archery, and even water zorbing.

Although you’re in the lap of luxury, the locale is well worth exploring, but you can stick close to your base by going out on nearby cycling and walking trails. Or branch out to tourist hot spots, including the stunning Chatsworth House, the Matlock Bath Aquarium, and (if you can stomach a drive) Alton Towers.
