<p>Masters of merino and makers of some of the country&#8217;s finest knitwear, a John Smedley jumper will last you years. They&#8217;ve been making luxury knitwear in the factory at Lea Mills since the 18th century and it&#8217;s all gorgeous quality. Open daily from 10am-4pm, the factory shop is well worth a visit (especially if you can snaffle a stunning Sea Island cotton bargain).</p>

<p>Design whizz David Mellor was a design visionary and the bespoke factory, home and retail space he created on the outskirts of Hathersage is well worth your time. There’s a pretty cool café and restaurant to enjoy too.</p>
