<p>Cut price pancakes all day on Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday at this laid-back waterside eatery. You’ll pay £8 for the likes of Berry Stack Pancake, a buttermilk pancake stack with winter berry compote, fresh berries, whipped yoghurt and maple syrup. Or can I tempt you with Maple Belly Pancakes, buttermilk pancake stack with maple glazed pork belly, creamy scrambled eggs and maple syrup (u<em>sually £</em>10.50)? Delish.</p>

<p>Gather up the kids and deposit them at Philo&#8217;s Pancake Party on Pancake Day for a stack of Shrove Tuesday shenanigans. For the bargain price of £5, each child will get three pancakes to top as they see fit at the pancake topping station, a chance to have a go at some pancake flipping, as well as pancake-themed activity sheets to get stuck into once the sugar rush wears off. <p>Kids come home starving? Take them for after school pancakes from 4pm-6pm on Pancake Day at The Old Vol. They can choose between French-style crepes and American-style podgy pancakes for a fiver with two toppings of their choice.  The topping menu ranges from ice cream and strawberries to chocolate sauce or old school lemon and sugar.</p>
