Norwood Park Cottages, Southwell

This historic estate in Southwell has long been a go-to for brides and grooms getting hitched and it has just opened three cottages perfect for group getaways. Go, go, go!

Norwood Park Estate is an elegant set-up for large events; we’d know we hosted our Muddy 2023 Awards bash there, and it was a dream. And when it’s not accommodating the Muddy team (bubbles and all), Norwood is a super exclusive wedding venue that has *finally* opened its doors to holidaymakers.

Squirrelled away in Southwell (if that doesn’t ring a bell, it was our Best Places To Live winner for 2023), the three brand-new luxe cottages sleep between six and eight people.

The biggest of the trio, The rustic Farmhouse, which still has whiffs of its original features dating back to the 18th century, is an ideal option for hosting a big bash. Not only will your eight guests sleep soundly in the cushty double beds and play about in the lounge and games room, but you can also host a feast in the large dining room adorned by exposed beams and red brick. Contemporary interiors hail from the high-spec kitchen which has all the mod cons – electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher (rejoice!).

If you’re travelling light (up to six guests), Strawberry Field and Apple Orchard cottages boast modern interiors and a tight-knit vibe best suited for small families or a hideaway with your best pals. A huge draw for both cottages is the spacious gardens with ample seating for an at-home picnic or a spot of stargazing, vino in hand.

Out and about, there’s a golf course right on the doorstep with a bar and lounge to kick back in. You’re also a 25-minute walk (trust me, walks here are too lovey to miss) from Southwell town centre, where you’ll find brilliant indie boutiques and the beloved Southwell Racecourse. Phew, that’s half-term sorted.
